The Many Advantages Of Introducing Sharing In Your Neighborhood

There was a time when sharing in the neighborhood was commonplace. Families stayed together, neighbors helped neighbors, and strong, healthy communities survived even the hardest of times. Today, society is much different. A family is divided, with members living in different states. People lead busy lives and don't take time to meet others in their own apartment or even their next door neighbor.

Living in an isolated world like this leaves us vulnerable. When you need help, who will you ask? The concept of borrowing a cup of sugar from your neighbors wasn't seen as being needy long ago, it was what people did for one another. Communities felt safer, knowing everyone was looking out for one another.

It is time to bring back sharing in your neighborhood. There are so many benefits to a friendly community, full of people helping people. It can save individuals money, by sharing and exchanging household goods. Imagine if you are working on a project in your garage and you need certain tools to complete your task. Wouldn't it be economical to borrow a neighbor's tools and, in return, you will do the same for him or her when they are in need? No need to invest money in products that a friendly neighbor is more than happy to lend you.

Consider how much money can be saved in a safe community of friends, where you watch each other's children, never needing to pay for child care. In addition, the comforting feeling of knowing your child is in responsible hands. Sharing in your neighborhood also involves ideas such as swapping skills. If a friend can give you an oil change and you can fix his computer, you both win!

But aside from the economical advantages of neighborhoods that share goods, time and skills, it is the best way to meet new people, make friends and maybe even find that special someone.
